For the first time in 10 years, Justin, JC, Joey, Lance and Chris hit the stage together — and it happened to be the same awards show stage where they last performed.
*NSYNC reunited at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards on Tuesday night (Sept. 12), presenting the award for Best Pop at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. The reunion marked the first time that Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, Lance Bass and Chris Kirkpatrick were onstage together since the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards.
The long-rumored, decade-in-the-making reunion turned into reality on the VMAs stage, where the boy band gave out an award to none other than Taylor Swift.moving from Los Angeles to New York and is currently in preproduction in its new home.
The two daytime shows are Writers Guild signatories and would follow 'The Drew Barrymore Show' in returning to production.
Several daytime talk shows may be following the lead of Drew Barrymore in restarting production during the dual labor strike.
CBS’ panel show The Talk and two syndicated talkers, The Jennifer Hudson Show and Sherri, hosted by Sherri Shepherd, are returning to production for season premieres in the coming weeks. They’ll do so amid labor actions by the Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA, which have shut down hundreds of TV and film productions over the past five months as the two unions seek better pay and residuals, streaming data transparency and protections against artificial intelligence (among other issues) from studios and streamers.
Writers picketed the show in New York on Monday, and two audience members told The Hollywood Reporter they were asked to leave the taping after they wore pins supporting the strike inside.
The Talk is set to begin taping again, sources say, with plans for a Sept. 18 premiere. CBS declined to comment. The show, which is a signatory to the Writers Guild’s minimum basic agreement, went dark when the writers strike began in May.
Hudson’s show, which is syndicated by Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution, is promoting its second season, also beginning Sept. 18 — but has been doing so with clips from season one. The Oscar winner’s show employed WGA writers last season and, per the guild’s website, is also a signatory to the union’s minimum basic agreement. THR has asked Warner Bros. for comment.
Sherri is also going into its second season, distributed by Lionsgate’s Debmar-Mercury. Like fellow daytime shows Live With Kelly and Ryan — which has been running as normal — and Tamron Hall (whose fifth season debuted Sept. 5), Shepherd’s program doesn’t use WGA writers. ABC’s The View has been running throughout the strike as well, even though it normally employs a few WGA members; guild members have picketed the show.
Barrymore, Hudson, Shepherd and The Talk’s panel (Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Natalie Morales, Jerry O’Connell and Sheryl Underwood) would all be in compliance with SAG-AFTRA rules regarding hosting their shows, which are covered under a separate contract — the so-called Network Code — from the one actors are striking.
Not among the daytime shows coming back — at least not yet — is The Kelly Clarkson Show. Syndicated by NBCUniversal, Clarkson’s show is moving from Los Angeles to New York and is currently in preproduction in its new home. NBCU hasn’t announced a debut date for the 2023-24 season yet.
The Morning Show, also known as Morning Wars in Australia and Indonesia,[1][2] is an American drama television series starring Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Steve Carell that premiered on Apple TV+ on November 1, 2019.[3][4] The series is inspired by Brian Stelter's 2013 book Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV.[2][5] The show examines the characters and culture behind a network broadcast morning news program. After allegations of sexual misconduct, the male co-anchor of the program is forced off the show. Aspects of the
The second season premiered on September 17, 2021.[6] The series was renewed for a third season in January 2022,[7] which premiered on September 13, 2023.[8] On May 1, 2023, ahead of the season three premiere, Apple renewed the series for a fourth season.[9]
Premise[edit]Alex Levy co-anchors The Morning Show (TMS), a popular morning news program broadcast from Manhattan on the UBA network, which has excellent viewership ratings and is perceived to have changed the face of American television.
In the first season, after her on-air partner of 15 years, Mitch Kessler, is fired amidst a sexual misconduct scandal, Alex fights to retain her job as a top news anchor while paired with a new partner, Bradley Jackson, a field reporter whose series of impulsive decisions increasingly threatens the network.
In the second season, the network CEO attempts to convince Alex to return to TMS as the COVID-19 pandemic engulfs the United States and the show itself. Meanwhile, Bradley deals with an identity crisis.
Cast and characters[edit]Main[edit]The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards are almost here. The show will air live from Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., on Tuesday (Sept. 12) at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
Shakira and Sean “Diddy” Combs are slated to receive the top honorary awards: the Video Vanguard Award and the Global Icon Award, respectively. Both artists will also perform on the show for the first time in more than 15 years.
This year’s VMAs are going heavy on hip-hop. In addition to Diddy’s star turn, Nicki Minaj is set to emcee and perform at the show. Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion will perform their new single, “Bongos.” Lil Wayne and Metro Boomin are also on the performance lineup. Metro Boomin will be joined by Future, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Swae Lee and NAV.
And the show will have a 50th anniversary salute to hip-hop, following the lead of many other awards shows in the past year. LL Cool J, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Darryl “DMC” Daniels and Doug E. Fresh are among the artists set to appear in the show-closing segment.
Hip-hop fans aren’t the only audience being served by this year’s VMAs. Latin music fans can look forward to performances by Anitta, Karol G and Peso Pluma — in addition to Shakira, who, as noted, is this year’s Video Vanguard award recipient.
Pop fans may tune in for Doja Cat, Olivia Rodrigo and Demi Lovato.
Rock fans can look forward to Fall Out Boy and Måneskin.
K-pop fans will have Stray Kids and TOMORROW X TOGETHER.
Kelsea Ballerini is on the bill for fans of country music. The date of the show, Sept. 12, happens to be Ballerini’s 30th birthday, which shows that the country star is a trouper.
Eight of the performers on this year’s main show are from outside the U.S., which dramatizes how the music scene has become more global in recent years. Shakira and Karol G are both from Colombia; Stray Kids and TOMORROW X TOGETHER are both from South Korea; Anitta is from Brazil; Måneskin, from Italy, Peso Pluma, from Mexico and NAV, from Canada.
This is a far more international cast than the inaugural VMAs in 1984, where there were five American performers (Madonna, Huey Lewis & the News, Tina Turner, ZZ Top and Ray Parker Jr.) and two Brits (Rod Stewart and David Bowie, the latter represented by a pre-taped performance from London).
Saweetie will host a 90-minute pre-show, with assists from Nessa, Dometi Pongo and Kevan Kenney. The pre-show airs live from 6:30 to 8 p.m. ET/PT on MTV, MTV2, CMT and Logo.
Shakira will become the first South American artist to receive the Video Vanguard Award. Women have thoroughly dominated this category in recent years. Shakira follows Rihanna (2016), P!nk (2017), Jennifer Lopez (2018), Missy Elliott (2019) and Nicki Minaj (2022). There was no recipient in 2020-21. The last man to win the award was Kanye West in 2015.
Diddy is third recipient of the Global Icon Award, following Foo Fighters (2021) and Red Hot Chili Peppers (2022).
Taylor Swift leads the 2023 VMA nominations with 11 nods, counting three she received on Friday (Sept. 1) in social categories. She is followed in the total nominations count by SZA (eight); BLACKPINK, Doja Cat, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Olivia Rodrigo (six each); Kim Petras and Sam Smith (five each); and Beyoncé, Diddy, Drake, Ice Spice, Karol G, Metro Boomin, Shakira and TOMORROW X TOGETHER (five each).
Bruce Gillmer and Den of Thieves co-founder Jesse Ignjatovic are executive producers of the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards. Barb Bialkowski is co-executive producer. Alicia Portugal and Jackie Barba serve as executives in charge of production. Wendy Plaut is executive in charge of celebrity talent. Lisa Lauricella is music talent executive.

Sean Combs, a.k.a. Diddy, has reassigned all the publishing rights to Bad Boy Records back catalog to the artists and writers, Variety and Rolling Stone reports. A source close to the deal confirmed that the Notorious B.I.G.’s estate, Faith Evans, Ma$e, the Lox, 112 and “many more” artists will benefit from the move. Diddy has yet to personally comment on his decision.
The source noted that Diddy has fielded multi-million dollar offers for the Bad Boy catalog, but rejected the chance to follow artists such as Justin Bieber and Future as one of the many big name artists selling their rights over to a third party. The source explained that Diddy began working on this move in 2021 and sees it as "part of a broader goal of promoting economic empowerment for Black artists and culture.”
Diddy has a new album, The L.O.V.E. Album: Off the Grid, due on September 15. The album features an extensive list of guest stars, including appearances from Justin Bieber, the Weeknd, 21 Savage, Summer Walker, and many more.
Diddy has accepted the Global Icon Award at the 2023 MTV VMAs.
Following a nostalgic medley performance featuring a number of classic hits like "It's All About the Benjamins," "Bad Boys For Life," and "I'll Be Missing You," the rapper received the honorary Moon Man from his old friend, Mary J. Blige.
On stage, Diddy called the award a "dream come true," as a kid who "grew up watching MTV [being] like, ‘Man, I wish one day I could be up there.'”
"I thought I was gonna be playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers, but God made another choice," he said, adding that it was a blessing to pursue his passions for the past 30 years. And part of this is obviously entrepreneurship, seeing as how he closed things out by telling everyone to buy his new record.
This Friday (September 15), Diddy will release his album The Love Album – Off The Grid. It'll feature the single "Another One of Me" featuring The Weeknd, French Montana, and 21 Savage. Last week, Diddy announced that he had relinquished the publishing rights for the entire Bad Boy catalog back to the artists.
